Cisco Call Manager

This IP system is the most popular system sold by Cisco. Generally this is the system at a headquarters location.
This is a server based system that can store audio files internally and doesn’t have a standard plug in for an external player. This unit then can stream the audio to other remote locations from one central location, thus only needing one file. Generally speaking the audio will start from the beginning for each caller put on hold. The system can be programmed to play in a loop, however most will not choose this method as it can take additional resources to do this.
As an alternative, it is possible to adapt an external player with an adapter that has a USB interface with a mini plug. Similar to http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/imic/
The Cisco installer will then need to program the system to look to the USB interface as the music on hold source.
